In a promotional folder from RCA, promoting digital HDTV and dated 1999, we found this photo of a “future product concept… merging high-tech with high-art…”
We’re not sure what creeps us out more: the “War of the Worlds” eye-shaped camera or the “Day of the Triffids” stereo speakers.
The folks at RCA, however, called it “Iris.” By the way, the little knobby thing in the foreground (“mushroom-shaped”) is the mouse.
